Two area business leaders have joined forces to launch Spark Consulting Group, a design thinking agency, headquartered in Iowa City, IA. Mat Winegarden, Agile expert and well-respected startup mentor, along with Matt Arnold, a leader in brand strategy and design thinking, have created a new education and professional services organization. Spark Consulting Group focuses on helping companies improve business effectiveness through innovation and customer insight.
Mat Winegarden will serve as Continuous Discovery Coach, focusing on helping customers utilize modern research techniques and Agile delivery methods to improve customer understanding. Matt Arnold will serve as Chief Catalyst helping companies leverage their super powers, so they can better meet customer needs. The catalyst title is a nod to Spark Consulting Group’s belief that many companies already have the raw materials they need to succeed and they just need help pulling everything together.
Mat Winegarden says “our approach helps teams create, test, and deliver products and services customers will love.” While Matt Arnold notes Spark “looks forward to partnering with premier organizations to harness the power and potential of design thinking so they can deliver innovative solutions to their most pressing issues.” Spark Consulting Group is excited to be headquartered in Iowa City. Arnold says that “Iowa City’s roots in storytelling, education, and scientific advancement, combined with the exciting economic development efforts and vibrant business community make it a perfect place to launch Spark Consulting Group.”
Spark Consulting Group’s initial offering will include professional services, education and training, as well as coaching and consulting for business leaders and product managers.
