White Lake Presbyterian Church Supports Children at Oxbow Elementary

The church has committed to helping children in need to become the stars of tomorrow

Launching a new drive in its ongoing collaboration with Oxbow Elementary School, also in White Lake, the church is currently collecting clothing for the school-age children. A Title I school based on the number of children eligible for free or reduced-price lunches, Oxbow welcomes the contributions that White Lake Presbyterian has offered over the years.
As a first-time initiative, White Lake Presbyterian is collecting new clothing items that are in greatest demand at the school. These include socks, underwear and sweatpants with ties (so they can be used for a range of sizes). The church is collecting these items now, so that the school will have a stock on hand for the start of the next school year.
“We are very pleased with our relationship with Oxbow,” says Pastor Debbie Lennis. “The congregation at White Lake Presbyterian is very generous, committed to serving the community, and grateful to be able to meet this need.”
During the pandemic, White Lake Presbyterian maintained its relationship with Oxbow through monthly donations of food, school supplies, Thanksgiving meals, and generous Christmas gift bags and Christmas dinners. The church will continue to address the needs of Oxbow during this next school year.

Mark Maupin, Director of Driving Success Lives, a nonprofit in Michigan, said “Our charity loves giving cash and goods to White Lake Presbyterian as 100% of your donation goes to the cause. No money for administration costs. The causes they serve will bring a tear to eyes on the difference they are making. When Kids ask for food for themselves vs a Christmas gift for other needs. Our charity knows that every dollar we give White Lake Church goes to the right cause.
