Now available on Steam for HTC Vive, as well as Oculus Rift, a new defense strategy VR game takes no feline prisoners. Kittypocalypse allows gamers to explode, fry, dissolve, zap, bounce, and annihilate thousands of villainous kittens who are attempting to take over fifteen islands. But are they really as cute and cuddly as they look? Not so much. In truth, they’re evil aliens that have taken over gamers “planets” by deceptively dressing up as adorable kittens. How’s that for a bait and switch?
Kittypocalypse is a from-the-ground-up VR defense game that features:
- Fifteen fantastically beautiful islands to defend
- Free-flowing hordes of enemies
- Campaign mode
- Skirmish mode
- Unlockable weapons and upgrades
- Complex damage model for weapon and kitten armors
- Over 50 weapons upgrades
With a finely-tuned difficulty progression, which eases in new players but culminates in the ultimate standoff, the game proves challenging. As does its control system that is designed exclusively for room-scale Vive play.
The quirky tone of the game as garnered interesting reviews from gamers.
