If you’re heading to Dorset hotels early in the year, then you’ll be able to see something that few visitors to this beautiful county do. Although many come for the beaches and warm weather that the summer months provide, winter brings its own attractions, such as the Winter Wildlife Cruises organised by the RSPB that depart from Christchurch Harbour. Take to the water with an expert guide and spot all of the species that visit the UK to escape colder winters elsewhere.
Later on in the year, Bournemouth’s Air Festival will be taking place, which is sure to wow people of any age. Display teams, demonstrations of jets, helicopters and other aircraft, fireworks and more make this long weekend (August 30th – September 2nd) a delight for everyone.
If you’re looking for more classical entertainment, then Bournemouth also has its share of theatre and music on display throughout the year. Why not head to Bournemouth’s Folk Festival in March, or enjoy an open air performance of Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors in July?
