Up And Coming Caribbean-Canadian Author Janessa Cockburn Announces Launch Of Debut Book Of Poetry, Eye Bloom

Up and coming Caribbean-Canadian author Janessa Cockburn is announcing the launch of her debut book of poetry, Eye Bloom, now available for purchase on Amazon and www.cosmiccoburn.com.
Cockburn says every section of Eye Bloom articulates themes of pursuing something more, gaining greater awareness, and strengthening self-acceptance. “Cycles one through six take readers through a journey of storms and disasters,” she says, “displaying the power that comes from persevering towards exactly where you want to be, even when the process seems impossible.”
Eye Bloom aims to speak to audiences of girls and young women from age 14-25, to provide motivation for them to master parts of themselves and honor their own truth. “I want young ladies to feel empowered to unlock the door to become the people they truly want to be, because their light will shine in divine time.”
Cockburn adds that Eye Bloom started as a collection of diary entries. “My mother bought me a journal when I was a girl, as a way to express my thoughts and emotions,” she says. “My journal chronicled my goals, obstacles, pains, and life lessons along the way.” She adds that this early affinity for writing has become a safe, cathartic outlet to release her thoughts.
Sharing these personal experiences is the way Cockburn envisions inspiring women. “It’s okay to be vulnerable and express yourself in a way that’s necessary for you, especially along the path to achieving your goals.”
In creating Eye Bloom, 23-year-old Cockburn partnered with Colombian-Canadian illustrator and art instructor Daniela Casas, who is credited with all the artwork.
