About the Authors

Miranda Manzano

Miranda is an attendee of the Yale Writers Conference and a quarter finalist in the 2017 BlueCat short screenplay competition. She lives in the Pacific Northwest where she sells hot dogs to support her writing habit. Please contact her @Miranduh_M to let her know what you’re having for dinner.

Sara Marchant

Sara Marchant received her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California, Riverside / Palm Desert. Her work has been published by The Manifest-Station, Every Writer’s Resource, Full Grown People, Brilliant Flash Fiction, The Coachella Review and East Jasmine Review. Her non-fiction work is forthcoming in the anthology All the Women in My Family Sing. She is the prose editor for the literary magazine Writers Resist. She lives in the high desert of Southern California with her husband, two dogs, a goat, and five chickens.

Christa Miller

Too goody-two-shoes for the rebels and too rebellious for the good girls and boys, Christa Miller writes fiction which, like herself, doesn’t quite fit in. A professional writer for 15+ years, Christa has written in a variety of genres ranging from crime fiction to horror to children’s, but her favorite stories to write — and read — are those which blend genres. She has an affinity for the dark, psychological, and somewhat bizarre, but doesn’t let that stop her from snuggling baby animals at a local wildlife rescue, adventuring with her two sons in rivers, swamps and salt marshes, or relaxing with a good book and a cold beverage in her hammock. Christa is based in Greenville, SC. Learn more at https://christammiller.com/.

Tom Rinkes

Tom is a sixty-four-year-old retired truck driver who caught the writing bug in 2010. He’s married to the same pretty lady for forty-six years now. Their union has produced two special children and two very special grand-children. He enjoys writing science fiction and especially anything time travel, which he thinks is entirely possible. When not writing, Tom is an avid wood worker who has built everything from end stands to entertainment centers in his basement shop. He lives in a small, farming community in East Central Ohio, where all the neighbor’s dogs and cats, when they venture onto the road, have the right of way.

About the Editors

Jade Leone Blackwater

Jade Leone Blackwater is a co-founder and executive editor of Running Wild Press.

Likes: ponderous poetry, mystifying stories, super stupid silly movies, forests and gardens, dirt under her fingernails, pursuing good challenges with a team, raging at great parties, wandering moonlit starry nights, long conversations, Spongebob on Sunday mornings, Star Trek any time, great friends and family.

Dislikes: close quarters with big spiders, rigid rules, meanies, powermongers and haters, being told what to do.

Lisa Diane Kastner

Lisa Diane Kastner is a co-founder and executive editor of Running Wild Press.

Likes: great stories, great writing, writing in-between genres, laughter, joy, a collaborative effort, great food, great drinks, great music, art, travel, dancing from the heart, great friends and family.

Dislikes: negativity for negativity sake, offering problems without possible solutions, days so hot that she’d turn into a piece of burnt toast within moments of walking into the sunlight, okra.

About Running Wild Press

Running Wild Press is for readers who want stories outside the lines. The world was missing out on some of today’s great voices because the stories didn’t fit neatly in a category. Then the founders were asked,
“If that’s how you feel, why don’t you make space for those stories yourself?”

Done.

Running Wild Press finds writing that illuminates our collective imagination, polishes it, and then shares it with readers.
