E-commerce specialists at Cyber Monday Hero compare discounts from the most popular retailers to find the best value Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Online spending during Black Friday 2017 is already outperforming previous sales events, thanks to a higher number of shoppers and more deals on offer. Over $650 billion was spent by shoppers during the 2016 holiday shopping season. For the past six years this number has been growing at close to 5% annually, based on survey data from the National Retail Federation (NRF).
The continued shift towards online spending for retailers has alleviated a lot of the overcrowding issues that stores encountered during previous Black Friday sales events. Last year the number of online Black Friday shoppers eclipsed the number who queued up in store for deals. Approximately 110 million shoppers went online for deals in 2016 and 99 million went in store, according to research from the NRF Survey.
Deals from the big retailers start online on Monday, November 20th, and run for an entire week until Cyber Monday on November 27th.
