An administrator from the The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) was elected as Commission Chair for the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).

An administrator from the The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) was elected as Commission Chair for the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).
ACCET was founded in 1974 for the purpose of improving continuing education and training and has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978 as a “reliable authority” as to the quality of education and training provided by the institutions accredited.
TISOH Director of Academic Affairs, Donnell G. Bayot, Ph.D., CHE, CPCE, CFBE, CWIP, was elected Commission Chair at the annual election of ACCET Officers on December 1, 2022. Dr. Bayot has been a Commissioner (Institutional/Academic) since 2015, was appointed Chair of the Completion and Placement Committee in 2019, and most recently served as Commission Vice Chair. His election marks the first elected Chair of Asian American descent and as an academic from a non-Title IV institution.
“Since TISOH’s initial accreditation by ACCET in 2012, we have been an actively participating member of the Council. TISOH has benefitted greatly from its accreditation status by ACCET with streamlined policies and continued academic excellence. TISOH staff has participated in well over 20 peer-review visits and hosted workshops for both prospective and returning members. Dr. Bayot holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Workforce Development and Organizational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His Ph.D. dissertation created a competency model for catering and event professionals. For that work, in addition to other efforts, he was recognized with the prestigious Pacesetter award by the Event Industry Council. He graduated from San Beda University High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and a Master of Education in Instructional Technology from Regis University. He is also a Certified Hospitality Educator, a Certified Professional in Catering and Events, a Certified Food & Beverage Executive, and a Certified Wedding Industry Professional.
