Individuals in the hospitality industry who are currently facing economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic may apply for a $500 relief grant from the Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation. This is a one-time grant available to those who are able to provide documentation that they 1) were previously employed in the hospitality industry as of March 1, 2020, and 2) can provide documentation that they are no longer receiving a salary as a result of COVID-19. This grant also includes those who are self-employed in the hospitality industry but have lost contracts from cancellations.
The first application window begins Friday, April 10, 2020, at 12:00pm PST. The second window will begin Friday, April 24, 2020. Applicants selected during the first window will be notified via email within two weeks. Those who do not receive notice during the first window may apply again on April 24th.
