DMAX is proud to announce a special virtual event this week: DMAX Students Speak, an exciting follow-up to last week’s virtual Self Esteem: Coping in Collective Isolation. On Thursday, April 23rd, Lisa Connolly (Millersville University), Danni Guth (Penn State Brandywine) and Emma Krasinski (Lafayette College) will share their personal mental health stories and talk about the need for and impact of mental health-focused DMAX Clubs on their campuses. You will also hear about how these clubs are meeting the ever-increasing mental health needs of students that face social isolation due to Covid-19.
During this time, more than ever, young people need all of our support to maintain mental health and well-being. Join us and engage in a moving evening with them.

DMAX addresses a significant unmet need on college campuses where those suffering from emotional concerns often can’t or don’t seek counseling services because of stigma, overcrowding, and lack of resources, often leading to tragic results. Research shows forty percent of college students with a mental health condition don’t talk about it or use college mental health services. DMAX Clubs encourage students to share with their peers what is going on for them, so they can help each other and realize that they are not alone in their struggles. When students break the silence about emotional struggles, they can help decrease the tragic results that too often occur when they keep their emotional pain to themselves.
