If you are heading off to the Algarve region of Portugal this August you are sure to want to find out some of the great events and festivals happening during the month. Here are just some of the fantastic events taking place during August that you could be enjoying whilst on holiday in our villas in Algarve.
Already in full swing is the popular Sardine Festival in Portimão, now in its 18th edition the event offers lots more that you would imagine. Taking place in the city’s scenic and traditional waterfront, you can expect lots of stalls selling everything from handcrafted goods to freshly cooked Portuguese seafood dishes. Throughout the days you will be able to catch some of the biggest names in Portuguese music playing a mix of musical genres, from traditional Fado to jazz to rock. The Sardine festival runs until the 11th with entertainment lasting well into the night.
If you are staying in one of our fabulous villas in Albufeira you will find its centre come alive each Wednesday night with entertainment planned right though until September the 19th. You will find lots planned to keep you and your family entertained during the warm summer nights, with groups of dancers and musicians performing each week. There are even regular night markets to explore, making it a wonderful destination to head to wherever you might be staying in the Algarve.
These are just two events you could be experiencing during a holiday in Portugal’s Algarve region, and there really is something for everyone to enjoy, be it day or night.
