The G2 Gallery is Calling for Environmental Photographers and Filmmakers to Show Their Work

Exhibits on Liberty Canyon Wildlife Crossing and Outer Space Are Seeking Photography G2 Green Earth Film Festival Seeking Films

The G2 Gallery, an award-winning nature and wildlife gallery known for exhibiting Ansel Adams, Robert Glenn Ketchum and other photographic luminaries, has three upcoming opportunities for environmental photographers and filmmakers interested in showing their work at the gallery.
The gallery, which has donated more than $1 million in cash and in-kind contributions to environmental charities since opening in 2008, will host two exhibitions in 2015 and is issuing an open call for submissions: Getting There: A Wildlife Crossing Over the 101 and The Great Unknown. The gallery’s third annual G2 Green Earth Film Festival is also calling for submissions after a highly successful second festival last October.
Getting There will focus on the proposed land bridge that would be built over the 101 highway in Liberty Canyon. The crossing would provide a natural bridge for mountain lions, coyotes, deer and other animals, which are commonly killed trying to cross the busy highway. Photographers with images of California wildlife interested in being part of the show, which will be on view April 21 to June 7, should contact jury@theg2gallery.com for further instruction. The Great Unknown will consist of photographs of planets, nebulae, stars and all things outer space-related. The exhibit promises to broaden the definition of humanity’s environment, drawing attention to the galaxy at large and its stunning components. Photographers interested in being part of the show, which will be on view June 9 to August 9, should contact jury@theg2gallery.com for further instruction. Deadline April 1.
The 3rd Annual G2 Green Earth Film Festival will build on last year’s success, having shown documentaries from Robert Redford, Jeremy Irons and other acclaimed filmmakers, along with emerging documentarians. Filmmakers at all levels are welcome to submit their films about environmental issues. Those interested in should email film@theg2gallery.com for further instruction. The festival will run over two weekends: October 16-17 and 23-24.
