“The CORE of Men” a division of Real Excellence, Inc. announces its second breakfast, set to take place at the University of Iowa Athletic Hall of Fame & Museum. The University of Iowa has sentimental meaning as it is the alum mata for The CORE of Men founder Bo Porter. Bo Porter is a graduate of the University as well as the 1994 University of Iowa Hawkeye football team MVP. Bo earned All-Big Ten honors in Baseball and Football while playing for the Hawkeyes and was drafted in 1993 by the Chicago Cubs. This was the beginning of Bo’s career in Major League Baseball; he would go on to play for the Oakland A’s and Texas Rangers. Bo has also coached for the Florida Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks, Washington Nationals and is currently coaching for the Atlanta Braves. In 2012 at the age of 40, Bo was named the 17th Manager of the Houston Astros and at the time he was the youngest Manager in Major League Baseball. Bo managed the Astros from 2012 to 2014.

On November 11, 2016 “The CORE of Men” will conduct its EMPOWERED Breakfast, “The Steps to Become a Champion” series. The breakfast is open to both men and women ages 18 and up and will take place at the University of Iowa Athletic Hall of Fame & Museum located at 2425 Prairie Meadow Dr. Iowa City, IA 52242 from 6:30 am to 8:30 am. EMPOWERED speaker for the event includes Former Iowa Hawkeye All-Big Ten Football & Baseball Player, Hawkeyes 1994 Football Team MVP, Founder & President of Real Excellence Inc. and MLB Coach Bo Porter.
