The Bartell Drug Company Implements Bi-directional Immunization Interface with Real Time Data

Scientific Technologies Corporation (STC) and The Bartell Drug Company are proud to announce that Bartell Drugs is now the first and only pharmacy in the country to implement the following trifecta of immunization services: Reporting administered vaccines to the state registry, forecasting additional vaccination opportunities at the point of care and offering patients an official Department of Health sealed certificate.

By integrating STC’s bi-directional Immunization Interface, ImmsLink into Bartell’s workflow, pharmacists can review patient immunization histories and vaccination opportunities in real time and make strong recommendations. STC’s industry-leading vaccine forecaster takes the uncertainty out of advocating for additional shots by confirming for pharmacists when a patient is due for immunizations, thereby enhancing the patient care experience. Since conception of this flu season, Bartell’s Immunization Program has helped protect over 60,000 Seattle area residents from illness by administering a flu vaccine. The program has also enhanced and improved the depth of data in the Washington Department of Health immunization registry so they can see a more accurate picture of the population’s health.

Bartell Drugs is also breaking ground by empowering patients with secure access to their own official Immunization records via STC’s MyIR patient portal. Patients can sign up through any Bartell pharmacist, then go home and have free access to their records online and anytime.
