Simple to install device proven to drastically reduce the impact of heavy backpacks
Livonia, Michigan (PRUnderground) May 7th, 2019
In one of their 1970s hits, the Rolling Stones loudly declared: “I’ll never be your beast of burden.”
For everyone else, however, there is the humble backpack. Open the flap, insert burden, pull it over the shoulders and walk away. It’s a useful invention that has been adopted by millions, from infantry troops to hikers to schoolchildren. What could be easier, or safer?
Unfortunately, though, anything dealing with the fragile human body can be problematic. In the case of the traditional backpack, studies have shown that forward motion often causes it to shimmy in place or ride up and down the spine, thus triggering various kinds of skeletal and muscle issues. For children carrying heavy backpacks, this can cause lifelong back and joint problems.
Enter, then, the BacPacJac.
According to Dan Powell of Michigan-based Turner Marketing, this handy little device “works just like a shock absorber to lessen the load, reducing the jarring impact of each step up to 53%. This, in turn, will have a noticeable effect on the body by greatly reducing the strain to shoulders, neck, back and knees.” Powell says that these impressive results were recently validated by an independent testing laboratory in Japan.
The easy-to-attach BacPacJac is especially useful for younger children, whose bodies are often not developed enough to withstand the backpack weight they are asked to carry. Early tests of the device over the past year have been received enthusiastically by kids and parents alike.
Part of this, no doubt, has to do with the $19.95 cost. Notes Powell: “There are a few backpacks with built- in glides that claim to reduce the stress of the load on your back, neck and knees. However, retail on these range from $150-$300.”
Moreover, shipping is free if a BacPacJac is ordered through the product Website (bacpacjac.com), and available colors include blue, black and pink. It is also available through Amazon.
“BacPacJac currently is available in two styles, Light (3-25 lbs.) and Heavy (20-50 lbs.),” says Powell. “Our initial plan is to target students of all ages, along with the novice and serious back packer. This will happen through educating on social media and then presenting to small and mid-sized retailers, eventually pursuing the mass marketplace. We will also be heavily promoting our website as a means to purchase.”
Dan also said that serious hikers and backpackers will be the next target market for BacPacJac.
