Filanthropists.com, a sales, marketing, and retailing solution for nonprofit organizations and socially conscious businesses engaged in e-commerce fundraising, announced today that T.E.A.L., Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer, an organization whose mission is to promote awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, to enable early detection, and to help find the cure for this deadly disease has joined Filanthropists.com as a vendor partner.  The money raised will be used to fund the organization’s day-to-day operations, advocacy, and education initiatives.

Tell Every Amazing Lady or T.E.A.L. was started in 2009 by Louisa M. McGregor and her sister, Pamela Esposito-Amery, following Louisa’s diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer the previous year.  As the sisters came to understand the disease, they learned why the prognosis for this type of cancer is poor; it’s because of a lack of knowledge, understanding, and tools for successful early detection when survival chances are best. The reason is attributable to lack of funding.  T.E.A.L.’s mission is to benefit Ovarian Cancer research through raising awareness and fundraising.  Their fundraising efforts encompass their annual signature event, the “T.E.A.L. Walk” as well as other events throughout the year.  Since 2009, T.E.A.L. has raised over $200,000 for research.

T.E.A.L.’s fun and stylish merchandise sold through the Filanthropists.com online store encompasses T-shirts, necklaces, a tote bag, teal colored shoe bling to decorate the shoe arch, teal colored Swarovski Crystal iPhone case, and a teal colored silk carnation wreath in the shape of an awareness ribbon.  Additionally, the use of Filanthropists.com’s product development service is being explored for the creation of original T.E.A.L. branded merchandise.

Filomena Laforgia, Founder/CEO of Filanthropists.com, stated, “Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death among women in the United States; A woman’s lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is 1 in 67.  Without early detection or treatment, ovarian cancer is typically caught in the advanced stages where only 45% of patients survive longer than five-years; however, with early detection and treatment, the survival rate beyond five-years is greater than 92%.”

Executive Director and Co-Founder, Pamela Esposito-Amery said: “It’s so exciting to partner with Filanthropists.com.  It allows T.E.A.L. to offer our supporters a guilt free shopping experience. I trust Filanthropists.com because of their well-established list of clients and charities.  Filomena is a pleasure to work with. Set up has been so easy, and we were able to get our shop open in a matter of days.”

Ms. Laforgia, continues, “I’m excited to partner with T.E.A.L. because their work especially resonates with me.  Not only does their work have a positive impact on the world by helping to eliminate a life threatening disease, but the origin of their organization comes from the same place as Filanthropists.com—a life changing medical diagnosis of a loved one led to the creation of an organization whose mission is to benefit the greater good.”
