STC’s Immunization Ambassadors Program Accelerates in its Social Media Promotion of the Value of Vaccinations

Scottsdale (PRUnderground) April 22nd, 2016

Scientific Technologies Corporation (STC) announces its more than triple gowth in social media of their Immunization Ambassador program which spreads the word about the importance of immunizations. As we entered National Infant Immunization Week, STC CEO Michael Popovich, an advocate for the immunization of all age groups, commented “the public health care community works tirelessly to prevent disease that vaccines can stop and their efforts often go unappreciated. But the majority of the population trusts in the value of immunizations so why not create a grassroots and social movement to support those on the front line of preventing disease?”

logo for shutterfly.pngThe Immunization Ambassadors program was established ten months ago as an advocacy and social movement of individuals that believe in immunizations and who are willing to serve as a proactive social media force to spread the positive word about the value of immunizations. Immunization Ambassadors from around the globe are signing up — from the U.S, Canada, United Kingdom, and Africa. Ambassadors use social media to disseminate messages important to them through the #WhyIVax hashtag. The program, which offers challenges and rewards, has created a community that is working toward the common good and raising awareness.

Michelle Bonjour, Director of the Immunization Ambassadors program said “we see the impact of social media, we see posts of families and their children getting their immunizations and ambassadors serving as walking promoters as they wear their #WhyIVax t-shirts in fun and exotic places, we see tweets of articles or news releases on new vaccines and on-going research. It is a movement that educates and empowers.”

STC will also be offering the Immunization Ambassadors program through their MyIR™ application, a consumer tool that allows individuals to have access to their immunization records and those of their families from state public health immunization information systems. MyIR™ is currently available in five U.S. states and in the near future consumers in additional states will have access to the tool.

National Infant Immunization Week is celebrated once a year to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities. The Immunization Ambassador program is a 24/7 year-round program to acknowledge and promote the critical role vaccination plays in protecting children and adults.
