Stamford based urgent Care Center Doctors Express, a national leader in urgent care walk-in clinics, announced that Dr. Francis J. Forno Jr., D.O., has joined their team as a full time physician, effective October 15. The new Stamford walk-in clinic, a time-saving, cost-effective alternative to the ER, opened mid-June of this year.
Dr. Forno brings 16 years of physician experience to his new position at Doctors Express. He most recently ran his own Family Practice office in Newtown, CT treating all age groups starting with children over 6 years of age. Simultaneously he cared for nursing home patients at 3 local nursing homes, holding the position of Medical Director at River Glen Nursing Home and Watermark at East Hill Health Center in Southbury, CT.
Prior to owning his family practice, Dr. Forno practiced acute care, occupational health, pre-employment and performed annual physicals for a local nursing home in Binghamton, NY.
Dr. Forno completed his residency Family Practice at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City, NY in 1998.
Dr. Forno said:“After 12 years of practicing family medicine in my home town and elder care at surrounding nursing homes, it was hard to move on. Being at Doctors Express Stamford has made this transition easier. Working with the excellent, well trained staff here in Stamford makes medicine fun. I look forward to each day, giving each patient the best I have to give.”
The Stamford based urgent care center, which was recently awarded the 2014 Business of the Year designation by the Stamford Chamber of Commerce, is on an upward trend, according to owner Brad Radulovacki, and ahead of its original numbers projection.
