Arena football fans world-wide will soon have a new play-by-play venue thanks to an exclusive, multi-year broadcast rights deal by Sports Radio America (SRA) and the American Arena League (AAL). The agreement will provide streaming radio coverage of league games via the internet.
Beginning in March, the “American Arena League Game of the Week” will be broadcast nationally and will feature the Vermont Bucks, Rochester Kings, Glens Falls Gladiators, Cape Fear Heroes, Triangle Torch, Upstate Dragons, Georgia Doom and the Florida Tarpons and other yet-to-be-named teams. This group of teams include two 2017 league champions and two 2017 league runner-ups.
The AAL was created by a merger between Arena Pro Football and the Can-Am Indoor Football League. The footprint of this league is expected to have a minimum of ten teams, spanning more than seven states from Vermont to Florida.
“This is a really interesting opportunity to secure the broadcast rights of two leagues which are merging to form a stronger, more prominent league,” said Jim Tirey, SRA Director of Live Events.
“This creates a multitude sports advertising and sponsorship opportunites for any business looking for a regional branding footprint along the Eastern coast,” adds Tya Harris, SRA Finance Director.
“The opportunity to have a national streamed radio game of the week is exciting to the AAL. It will give our fans another option to follow the AAL and its teams from anywhere in the world,” said Jack Bowman, AAL President.
