Skin Grip, a manufacturer of adhesive tape and patches for diabetic medical devices, has partnered with the Beta Cell Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the community surrounding type-1 diabetes. The move is part of Skin Grip’s A11 for 1 initiative.

The A11 for 1 program is Skin Grip’s charity initiative focused on organizations and causes related to type-1 diabetes. On the 11th of each month, Skin Grip donates 100% of its online profits from its signature glucose monitor and insulin pump tape to an organization chosen by its customers. The 11th commemorates January 11, 1922, when insulin was first used to treat diabetes. Skin Grip’s hope is that its donations can contribute to making insulin affordable for all and finding a cure for type-1 diabetes.

The Beta Cell Foundation will use Skin Grip’s generous donation to further its mission “to fund and foster grassroots projects developed by individuals living with type-1 diabetes to educate, empower, and unite our community.” The Beta Cell Foundation’s activities include creating educational apps, advocacy groups, online classes, and a social network for people with type-1 diabetes.

Isaac Parkinson, Skin Grip’s president said of the partnership, “We love their mission to create community and be transparent in an industry that is not always very transparent.”

Parkinson started Skin Grip after his brother was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes. Today, Skin Grip creates hypoallergenic adhesive patches for Dexcom, Medtronic, Omnipod, Abbott Freestyle Libre, T:slim, and Eversense devices. To date, they have helped keep these devices secure on more than 40,000 users. By keeping these medical devices firmly in place as people run, swim, sweat, and sleep, Skin Grip hopes to empower people with type-1 diabetes to live bold, fearless lives.

Together, Skin Grip and the Beta Cell Foundation hope to strengthen the community ties between people and organizations focused on improving the lives of people with type-1 diabetes. Skin Grip has previously partnered with influencers, podcasters, and fitness gurus to amplify the voice of people with diabetes.
