Scholar Ready Is Setting up Students for a Summer of Success

With warmer weather just around the corner, Scholar Ready gives parents a chance to make the most out of their kid’s summer vacation with its Summer Program Virtual Open House. Aimed at providing students a better shot at their future, Scholar Ready offers a wide variety of educational programs and services, from tutoring, scholarship application aid, or even its incredible PSAT, SAT, and ACT prep courses. With its open house, both parents and students can take a look at the programs for themselves, meet the founder, and get a step ahead in their schooling with the incredible opportunities it has to offer. Parents and students can also meet some Scholar Ready alumni, hearing their experiences with the courses and how they helped them in their education.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting new students and helping take them to the next level in their education, especially when their parents and the students themselves are already in that headspace,” said Scholar Ready founder Jennifer Ledwith. “The PSATs and SATs are going to look more different than ever with the new College Board adjustments, but we have to look beyond the scores and even the test prep. We’re preparing these kids for success in high school, college, and whatever awaits in the world beyond.”

On top of the ever-changing landscape of standardized testing, as proven by the latest modifications made by The College Board, the country is still reeling in classrooms from the stunted learning that took place over the worst parts of the pandemic. More unfortunate patterns have emerged in recent studies and research, along with the rise in mental health issues, harassment, and abuse in student households due to the pandemic. One of those examples is that students in predominantly Black schools are now five months behind in areas like reading and math, compared to students in white schools only being two months behind curriculum-wise. The pandemic is widening an already harrowing gap in our nation’s education system, so now more than ever, it’s crucial for students to take the right track for the sake of their futures.

Hoping to make up for the educational losses and classroom compromises due to the pandemic, Scholar Ready is covering a broad spectrum of work over its summer courses: Essay Writing for Scholarships & College Admissions, PSAT Preparation, and more general Summer Math and Literacy Programs. Students will learn how to write personal essays and build scholarship plans, apply for colleges, prep for all aspects of the PSATs (math, reading, and writing & language), and combine reading and algebra in an all-in-one learning experience across the Math and Literacy program respectively. The smaller classes and more individualized approach to these summer courses provide a unique opportunity for students of all skill levels, giving each of them a chance to have their questions and confusion with a subject heard and properly evaluated with the care it deserves – something they may lack in a larger online class.
