After DInner World Limited recently booked Ron Atkinson to appear as guest speaker for Grimsby Borough Town’s 10th anniversary.
Ron Atkinson was extremely well recieved at the event held on the 5th June 2014. Ron’s full name is Ronald Frederick Atkinson, also known as “Big Ron”. He is 75 years old and was born in Liverpool. As a former player, manager and latterly appeared in the TV show, Big Brother, he is a well known and popular celebrity in the UK.
He spent his playing career at Oxford United, and went on the manage Manchester United, Sheffield Wednesday and Atlético Madrid, to name a few. With Manchester United, as manager they won two FA cups.
Onto TV, Ron was a pundit for ITV Sport, and after retiring from management continued this role. He went on to make appearances on a few other sports shows, and more recently Celebrity Big Brother.
Grimsby Borough Football Club is based in North East Lincolnshire. The club is in Division One of Toolstation Northern Counties East League. They play at Badley Football Development Centre and have recently celebrated their 10 year anniversay.
