Rodney Diggs selected as Top Attorney of the Year by IAOTP

Rodney S. Diggs was just recently selected as Top Attorney of the Year for 2021 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the industry.

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With substantial experience as a litigator trying cases in both federal and state courts, Mr. Diggs has contributed greatly to his industry. Currently, he is the Chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Ivie McNeil Wyatt Purcell & Diggs where he joined in 2011.  He became a partner in 2016, and then became named partner when the firm changed its name to its current moniker in 2019. Mr. Diggs and the group he heads, focus on harassment, discrimination, retaliation and wage and hour issues for both private clients and public entities. He also specializes in civil rights litigation.

Prior to his career at Ivie McNeil Wyatt Purcell & Diggs, Rodney clerked for The Honorable Patti Jo McKay, Presiding Judge for the Appellate Division of the Los Angeles Superior Court.  Mr. Diggs earned his B.A. from UCLA and his J.D. from Howard University School of Law.  During his studies at Howard University, he was the Vice President of the Student Bar Association, Chief Justice of Sigma Delta Tau Legal Fraternity, as well as the Senior Staff Editor of the Human Rights and Globalization Law Review.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Diggs has received numerous awards and accolades and has been recognized for his outstanding leadership and commitment to his profession and industry. He was named Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2014-2021, one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal 2019, Top 40 Under 40 by National Trial Lawyers 2019-2020, and Most Powerful Employment Lawyer by Law Dragon for 2018.  He has won numerous awards including Community Leader Award in 2018 from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Tau Beta Omega Chapter, Los Angeles African American Vanguard Awards – 100 Most Influential African Americans in 2017, National Bar Association – 40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates in 2017, California Legislature Assembly- 40 Under 40 Civic Emerging Leaders for 2017 and National Black Lawyers – Top 40 Under 40 for 2016, 2019 and 2020.  All of which paints a picture of a truly impressive repertoire of achievements.

In addition, Mr. Diggs is a member of various professional associations including the American Board of Trial Advocates Sidebar, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the National Bar Association. He is also on the Board of Directors for the John M. Langston Bar Association and the Watt’s Labor Community Action Committee. A truly dedicated individual, passionate in his industry.

Looking back, Rodney attributes his success to his education, the mentors he had along the way, and his passion for the work he does.  When not working, he enjoys listening to golf, cycling, cooking and traveling.  In the future, he hopes to continue to make a difference in people’s lives through his professional efforts.
