The Republican Liberty Caucus has unanimously endorsed Ken Van Doren for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District. Ken is a local businessman with more than 30 years as a public speaker, educator and citizen lobbyist.
“Board members from all parts of the nation found Ken Van Doren to be a refreshing change from the political status quo,” said RLC National Chair Matt Nye. “We know the American people are weary of career politicians who only look out for themselves. Ken is committed to reducing the size and scope of government and is committed to obeying the Constitution. Everyone is very enthusiastic about this campaign.”
Chairman Nye explained the lengthy process to win endorsement, which starts with a recommendation vote from the candidate’s home state charter. A national Endorsement Committee then reviews the candidate’s response to a series of questions related to the RLC Statement of Principles and investigates the candidate’s performance in prior offices and public statements. If the candidate passes that test, the RLC Board takes the final endorsement vote.
“The RLC Endorsement Committee was very impressed not only with Ken’s survey, but more importantly with his long record of public service as a pro-liberty activist,” said Stephanie Butcher, chairwoman of that committee. “From youth sports to President of the Lions Club to a member of Mauston City Council, Ken has proven himself to be a leader Wisconsin can depend on. He will be an outstanding Congressman the citizens of the 3rd Congressional District can rely on to represent them with honesty and integrity.”
