Rebecca Zung is renowned not just for her work as one of the country’s most respected divorce attorneys but also for her YouTube channel on negotiating with narcissists. Last week, her channel approached 4 million views after an interview featuring Dr. Bandy Lee, who authored a New York Times Best Seller chronicling the effects of leader’s mental health on the nation’s well-being.
Rebecca Zung is a six-time recipient of the Top 1% of Attorneys award from the National Association of Distinguished Counsel and a four-time recipient of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Lawyer in America” award. She is the author of “Negotiate Like you M.A.T.T.E.R.” and “Breaking Free: A Step-by-Step Divorce Guide.” As a foremost expert on negotiating with narcissists, she is frequently consulted by major media outlets, programs, and publications, including ABC, CBS, NPR Talk Radio, Dr. Drew, Huffington Post, Extra and Time and Newsweek.
Zung has galvanized a massive following on her Negotiate Your Best Life TM YouTube channel, which features guidance for outsmarting narcissists at the negotiating table and in relationships. Last week, she featured an interview with Dr. Lee, who garnered worldwide attention for her 2017 book. The book contains essays from 27 mental health professionals about the president’s effect on the American people and national stability.
While Zung does not focus on politics on her YouTube channel, she interviewed Dr. Lee, a Yale-trained forensic psychiatrist, about pathological narcissists, many of whom are drawn to positions of power. In the 30-minute YouTube segment titled “Prescription for Surviving Narcissists,” Lee discussed narcissistic behaviors and shared self-care strategies for surviving interactions and relationships with narcissists.
Dr. Lee trained at Yale and Harvard Universities and served on the faculty of the Law and Psychiatry Division at Yale School of Medicine for 17 years. As a specialist in violence prevention programs, she instituted reforms at New York’s Rikers Island prison. She is currently the president of the World Mental Health Coalition.
“Dr. Lee is a global authority on pathological narcissism, and brought so much wisdom to our show,” said Zung. “Her deconstruction of malignant narcissists shed light on what fuels and deflates them, and she had invaluable advice for establishing boundaries so that you don’t get pulled into their downward spiral.”
