Proxidyne, a leader in IoT sensors, today released low frequency, long range versions of its call buttons, motion sensors, survey buttons, and repeaters with a new low frequency radio based on LoRa technology. The new radio increases the range by as much as 400 meters inside buildings and up to 5 km outside. These long range devices make it easy for customers in retail, manufacturing, and education to install devices anywhere in their facilities enabling new uses that help them achieve their goals of increasing sales, decreasing loss and improving staff efficiency and increasing customer satisfaction.

Example Use Cases
Examples of uses for Proxidyne Sensors include retailers placing wireless call buttons anywhere in their stores to summon assistance, manufacturers installing sensors anywhere in their plants and warehouses and educational institutions installing buttons and motion sensors through their campus.

“We responded to the strong interest in placing buttons and sensors in far-flung corners of stores, plants, warehouses and campuses,” explained Timothy Perfitt, Co-Founder and CEO of Proxidyne. “So we built interoperable long range devices that greatly increased what customers can accomplish in their environments that delivers meaningful value to their business.”

All Proxidyne Sensor and Call Buttons support both Bluetooth and the long range, LoRa-based communication protocol.  Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) devices have attractive small sizes and long battery lives making them ideal for many applications. The long range capability is based on LoRa, a protocol for wireless long range communication without the cost of a cellular carrier. All Proxidyne Sensors and Call Buttons can communicate with LoRaWAN gateways or with other Proxidyne Sensors and devices.  By extending the range with a Proxidyne Repeater, Proxidyne makes it easy to choose the best device for the application. In other settings, a single long range motion sensor or call button is all you need to achieve your goals.
