Projectors are widely used in a variety of capacities, from educational intuitions ranging from primary schools to world class universities, to businesses, even to the increasingly popular home cinema.
Image projection is provided by a projector lamp. From time to time these lamps may need to be replaced in order to provide continued functioning. In order to gain the most hours of usage from your projector, there are a few tips to consider.
-
Do not allow your projector to become overheated. Excessive heat is the number one cause of premature lamp failure.
-
Follow the powering down instructions provided within the user manual, this limits damage to the projector bulb and ensures the projector has a satisfactory “cool down” period before turning off.
-
Clean the air filters on a regular basis.
-
Operate your projector in a clean and relatively dust free environment.
-
Make use of economy mode.
The majority of modern projector lamps come equipped with a built in hour counter. This feature enables you to keep track of the amount of usage the lamp has received and enables you to order replacements before the bulb expires.
