Pop/R&B artist Andre Akinyele releases brand new studio album ‘Uniqlo Boy,’ available now via digital retailers, streaming platforms, and from https://www.andreakinyele.com. The album bears the clear influences of Frank Ocean, Maxwell, Pharrell Williams, and Solange.
In 2018, Andre Akinyele released ‘Telegram Mews’ generating some of the most significant critical acclaim of his career so far. In 2019, his publishing company Funkdivity Music joined forces with CD Baby (CD Baby PRO) allowing the company to administer his vast publishing catalog with over 300 songs written to date. Andre Akinyele continues to innovate and surprise, thrilling his fans and welcoming a whole new audience in the process.
‘Uniqlo Boy’ marks the futurist Andre Akinyele’s fifth album. In releasing the album fans get the chance to savor the many different aspects of his musical talents offering a very distinct listening experience. Andre Akinyele states, “I have been in creative mode. The first single, ‘Ride or Die’ will hopefully resonate with new and old fans who want to grab their ace boon koon to dance, party, and have a good time. The second single ‘App Love (Digi-Love)’ was written on a dare, as a friend explained how difficult it was finding a stable relationship or suitable hookup via dating apps. She jokingly said, ‘You should write about it and put it on your album.’ Well it’s on the album!”
Sonically, ‘Uniqlo Boy’ is a black gothic, futuristic, and universal odyssey into electro-pop/R&B/and soul. The melodies are immediate and prominent as ever and Andre Akinyele’s vocals are rich and solid. This electrifying reflection on rage, romance, and revelation manages to be an odyssey of hardcore beats, electro love songs, and dance music. Andre Akinyele fearlessly expresses all that he is on this album.
