Dr. Cindy Tsai is on a mission to help professionals avoid burnout by getting out of autopilot. Research has shown humans spend almost half their days on autopilot, not fully aware of what they are doing. This inadvertent practice often leads to burnout and dissatisfaction in life. As a board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Tsai saw the impacts of chronic stress on the body. True wellness comes from taking an integrative approach through the mind-body connection. After years serving as a primary care physician and medical director, she transitioned into coaching and speaking to make a bigger impact sharing her experience, resources and training with a global audience.
“I wanted to do more than just prescribe medications as a bandaid,” said Dr. Cindy Tsai, Founder of Cindy Tsai, M.D. Inc. “We are walking around, being on autopilot and depleting all our energy and resources because we are not paying attention to what we are doing. This is preventing us from living the life we are meant to live and accelerating our path to burnout.”
In order to get out of autopilot, it’s important to first notice how often you default to this mode. Working with a coach, you can change your habitual patterns and rewire your brain through neuroplasticity. When you are more present, you are able to focus better and enjoy your life with ease.
Tsai said, “Imagine having the tools and skills to stay calm and not get overwhelmed next time you have a deadline moved up at the last minute. You stay present and know exactly what you need to do to get through a stressful situation with ease.”
With record numbers of employees leaving the workforce and burnout rates at an all-time high, now is the time to avoid burnout by getting out of autopilot. Tsai adds, “The question I want everyone to ask is, ‘How much time am I wasting on autopilot?’”
