Ideal Property Group announced the ongoing development of the RM4.2bil Penang Technology Park @ Bertam (PTP), a project set to drive remarkable economic growth in the northern region by creating 30,000 new jobs and triggering a robust upturn in social and economic activities.
“PTP is a significant development for us and the community. It will strengthen the local supply chain within the light and medium industry, generating jobs in the manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, research and development, administration, management, and support services sectors,” said Tan Sri Alex Ooi, founder of Ideal Property Group.
PTP is strategically located in close proximity to multiple educational institutions – University Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Penang Branch, Aimst University, University Science Malaysia Bertam branch, and the Industrial Training Institute Kepala Batas. The proximity will enable a steady flow of skilled workers to the park’s burgeoning industries.
“We have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with UiTM Penang Branch and Aimst University, which will foster local talents to contribute to PTP’s success and drive community progress. These initiatives will create a robust talent pool that meets the park’s human resource needs,” Ooi stated.
PTP’s commitment goes beyond economic growth, extending to sustainability. PTP has partnered with BECIS Malaysia, an end-to-end energy service provider in the distributed utility sector, to drive sustainability initiatives within the park.
Together, PTP and BECIS will focus on delivering sustainable energy solutions, prioritizing environmental well-being alongside operational efficiency. The initiatives will include rooftop solar solutions, innovative utilization of potential detention ponds for large-scale solar installations, optimized cooling solutions through chiller deployment, and other value-added energy solutions.
