Producer of eco-friendly nighttime diaper alternative expands into overseas markets.
Salt Lake City, UT (PRUnderground) February 24th, 2020
When Craig Hammond was nighttime potty training his own son, he was on the lookout for something to make the process easier on himself, his wife, his son and the planet. That’s when the brainstorm hit him: why not create moisture-wicking pajamas to keep sheets dry and eliminate the waste and high cost of disposable diapers?
Having launched Peejamas successfully in the U.S., Hammond is joining forces with distributor Brolly Sheets to make the pajamas available in New Zealand and Australia.
Peejamas are kids pajamas that help stop bedwetting in boys and girls. They are made from a soft blend of cotton and bamboo and come in a variety of colors and patterns. The bottoms absorb urine so that kids don’t wet through to their sheets, but the moist feeling remains, alerting kids that it’s time to get out of bed and use the toilet. They can be washed over 300 times, negating the need for costly overnight diapers that monopolize landfill space.
Hammond debuted Peejamas on Kickstarter, where they became the most successful child apparel product ever launched on the online fundraising platform. Hammond said that he is confident that Brolly Sheets will help Peejamas achieve similar success overseas.
“Brolly Sheets has an impressive network in both of these countries and a lot of experience in the industry,” said Hammond. “They are also very committed to Peejamas’ overall mission.”
Like Peejamas, Brolly Sheets was started by a parent looking for a better solution to potty training. Diane Hurford grew tires of washing her kids’ urine-soaked sheets at night and developed a washable, waterproof pad that could be slipped off and replaced with ease after her kids’ nighttime accidents. Over 14 years later, Brolly Sheets continues to make waterproof bedding products for children, seniors, and those with special needs.
Hurford approached Peejamas about distributing their innovative disposable diaper alternative overseas after learning about their benefits to kids and the planet.
“Our brands are very closely aligned,” said Hurford. “They are good for our kids and great for the planet.”
Brolly Sheets has exclusive rights to distribute Peejamas via direct-to-customer and retail wholesale in Australia and New Zealand. Hurford said that Peejamas have already been very well received in these countries.
Peejamas have been awarded trademarks in many countries and plan to continue expanding overseas. Hammond’s choice to start with the New Zealand and Australia markets was influenced by the countries’ strong commitments to environmental sustainability.
