Green Air, Inc. has once again partnered with Meals on Wheels America and Second Harvest Food Bank, which focus on meal distribution to underserved families and the senior population, to provide relief and address nutritional needs during the ongoing pandemic.
For over 6 years and 3 years, respectively, the company has been donating financial gifts and volunteer work to these charitable ventures. In their efforts to give back to the community, GreenAir has contributed over tens of thousands of dollars, and at least 6-10 hours per week in meal preparation, packaging and distribution to individuals, families, and communities who need it most.
“In the midst of COVID-19, the need for these services have skyrocketed. We’ve been working more during the pandemic because of how many people need help”, said Paul Prince, CEO of Green Air, who along with members of his team participate in the cooking, packaging, mobile distribution and home delivery efforts for both organizations. “My biggest challenge is getting my rounds done and not just sitting down and talking to the people I meet, especially the elderly who hardly get any visitors – because they’re lonely.”
Food banks and other such organizations across the country have been severely impacted by COVID-19. They are facing increased demand for support, and operational capacity is strained. Many have seen a significant drop in volunteers, coupled with drastic reductions in their food recovery efforts. Yet, they are working tirelessly to serve those who rely on their services to feel safe and healthy.
