Smiles are Tanaz Warden’s life work. After years of working as a dental hygienist, she created One Click Smile to help people achieve brighter, whiter smiles at an affordable price. With World Smile Day approaching on October 2, she is urging people to brighten the outlook of 2020 with a smile and kind act.

Tanaz Warden developed her professional level teeth whitening system as a happy medium between low-quality, at-home products that produced poor results and prohibitively expensive treatments offered at the dentist’s office. One Click Smile offers the professional-grade, “in-chair” bleaching techniques available at the dentist’s office in the form of safe and convenient kits that can be administered in the comfort of home.

Tanaz said that her company looks forward to World Smile Day every year but believes that it is especially relevant this year. “We feel the social disconnect that has resulted from COVID-19, and we are also aware that there is a lot going on politically and socially right now in the world that is dividing us and causing people to feel anxious We don’t underestimate the power of a smile and kind act.”

Massachusetts artist Harvey Ball, who created the iconic smiley face in the 1960s, was the driving force behind the creation of World Smile Day. The observance is celebrated on the first Friday in October with the slogan “Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile.” Ball said that the smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion. He believed that for at least one day each year, neither should we.

The annual observance kicked off in 1999 in Ball’s hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts and has spread to communities worldwide. Celebrations have included parades, concerts, balloon releases, social media campaigns, and the creation of the world’s largest human smiley face (with people in yellow and black t-shirts aligning to create the icon).

One Click Smile is commemorating the day with an initiative to send their signature teeth whitening kits to female prison inmates working through rehabilitation programs.

One Click Smile’s kits are FDA-approved. They rely on the perfect percentage of hydrogen peroxide in the whitening gel (enough to cause significant results but not so much that they can harm the tooth enamel). They also use teeth whitening pens, which ensure precise application of the gel so that the gums are not hurt in any way.
