A few clients have asked if the SF Bay Area office of PRunderground has been affected by the raging wildfires in Northern California. First, we appreciate your concern. Second we thank the efforts of all of the firefighters out there battling a half dozen massive fires. Some in the Napa/Sonoma area are still completely un-contained with at least 15 deaths reported and many missing. This is just brutal work for first responders and fire fighters, and shelters are full with evacuees.

PRunderground is located about 20 miles from the nearest fire and has not been at threat of evacuation. The air quality has been horrible though, with smoke and ash at levels that burn eyes and throat. Officially the air quality is labelled ‘Unhealthy’ and has been as bad as ‘Very Unhealthy’. Many people are wearing particle masks in the area and staying indoors when possible. Ash can be found on the ground, in the air and all over the surfaces of cars and buildings.

At PRunderground, it’s not much, but we loaded up on supplies to drop off at the shelters of toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, socks, razors, throat lozenges, batteries, diapers and wipes, and even some crayons and coloring books. People had to evacuate very quickly as fires ripped through parts of Sonoma and Napa. The fire closest to us, known as #37Fire is reportedly 45% contained at this time, which is a big improvement. The worst of the fires are still fairly out of control. You can see the latest fire map at https://www.google.com/maps/@38.3893845,-122.5755567,10.43z/data=!4m2!6m1!1s1TOEFA857tOVxtewW1DH6neG1Sm0
