Nikki Kaufman, Founder and CEO, Normal, will be a keynote speaker at Additive Manufacturing Conference (AMC) 2015. Kaufman, the driving force behind Normal, an innovative brand leveraging advanced technologies to create fully customized earphones, will discuss how Normal is using 3D printing to mass produce personalized product. Meanwhile, changing the rules (and future) of American manufacturing.

Kaufman joins an array of additive manufacturing experts presenting at this year’s conference taking place October 20-21, 2015, in Knoxville, TN. Unlike other 3D printing events, AMC 2015 is focused on additive manufacturing and 3D printing technologies for production manufacturing, not prototyping, which is a practice Normal has taken to consumer products. Says Kaufman, “People have been talking a lot about 3D printing–and there a lot of trinkets and toys and prototyping– but this is an awesome consumer application.”

In addition to presenting, Normal will be 3D printing custom earphones for a number of registrants randomly selected throughout the conference. Normal’s display will complement an exhibit room featuring more than 40 companies displaying the latest machinery, materials, software and services used for additive manufacturing.

Commenting on Kaufman’s addition to the event, Allison Miller, Event Director, explained “The presenters, speakers and sponsors of our event aren’t arguing that one technology is better than another technology, but they are advocating that 3D printing or additive manufacturing presents new opportunities. In many ways, Nikki is the perfect illustration of that opportunism. While her story and her store differ from the factory floors of our traditional attendee, her philosophy is the same – look at technology as a way to make something better.”

Additive Manufacturing Conference 2015 registrants will receive access to all technical sessions; admission to the exhibit room; opportunities to tour Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility and Local Motors’ Microfactory; entry to all networking receptions and breakfast, lunch and breaks.

Registration is open for Additive Manufacturing Conference 2015. For detailed information on the conference program, exhibit room, networking events and facility tours, please visit: www.additiveconference.com.
