Grace LaJoy’s new book and series features characters of color. The heroin of the series is Gracie, a smart lovable girl who often gets caught up in funny situations. “Popcorn Behind the Bush” is about Gracie’s search for a missing tin of popcorn based on a mysterious note left by the mailman. The book will take the young readers through a cute and engrossing tale where they will learn about the little girl’s persistence, determination, problem-solving skills and great bond with her family. Interestingly, the story behind “Popcorn Behind the Bush” was inspired by a real-life incident in the author’s life involving a missing tin of popcorn left by the mailman.
