Ndelu Animation Studios Launches First Nursery Rhyme 3D Kids YouTube Channel For Black Children For Black History Month

Ndelu Animation Studios is announcing the launch of the first nursery rhyme 3D kids YouTube channel for Black children, to coincide with Black History Month. The channel will launch at www.ndelu.com.

Author and video content creator Pappi Ndelu, says the channel will feature a nuclear Black family comprised of a mother, father, and 3-year-old child. “The launch begins with the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star animated 3D video,” he says, “accompanied by a digital and physical book entitled, ‘Baby Eli’s Adventure with a Magic Star.’”

Ndelu, who parents and homeschools his three children, ages 3, 8, and 13, says his goal is to introduce audiences to the loving relationship, caring, and stable relationships that Black families have, since that is rarely portrayed in the mainstream media. “This story shows that the family values learning as a family affair,” he says, “which is important especially in this day and time when really, Black families deepening their involvement in their children’s education is the only solution to the problems the Black community is dealing with worldwide.”

Ndelu adds that a gap exists between the educational system and what Black children are actually learning. “The school system is failing to teach our Black children,” he says, “and only the Black community can fix our own problems. It’s not in anyone else’s best interests except for us.”

The goal is to spark a trend in the future of children’s animations, to present Black animated characters in lead roles, an improvement from supporting roles and stereotypical characters. These stories will also strongly emphasize natural hair and beautiful dark skin, so that children will instantly identify and connect with the characters.

Future plans call for videos introducing additional characters to the channel, all of whom will contribute to embedding unshakable self-love and self-acceptance in the psyche of Black children.
