Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company announced today it is a proud sponsor of “Power Your Lunchbox Pledge”; a back-to-school campaign developed by Produce For Kids, a non-profit dedicated to educating families on the benefits of healthy eating, providing simple meal solutions and raising money for children’s non-profit organizations.

The “Power Your Lunchbox Pledge” encourages parents to find simple and affordable ways to improve the quality and nutritional value of the lunches and snacks they prepare for their kids to take to school every day. Parents who take the pledge unlock a trove of healthy recipes, tips, prizes and useful products on the Power Your Lunchbox website.  The goal of the campaign is to swap out processed and pre-packaged foods for fresh, healthy and nutritious ones.

Parents taking the pledge not only help their own kids; they’ll be helping needy families nationwide because for each pledge taken, Produce For Kids and its partners will make a collective donation to Feeding America, a non-profit with a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that feed more than 46 million people through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies.

In 2015, 10,797 families and classrooms took the Power Your Lunchbox Pledge to pack a healthier lunch and helped Produce For Kids donate 118,767 meals to families in need.

Pledging for 2016 opens on August 8 and Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company is asking all its customers with school-aged children to take the pledge and improve the food choices in lunchboxes across the land.

“Our juices are an excellent choice for parents looking to pack a healthy lunchbox for their kids,” said MaryGrace Sexton, the founder and CEO of Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company. “Our clean label, minimally processed, squeezed fresh, juices are a healthy alternative to the sugary and often times artificially colored and flavored juice boxes we see in so many lunchboxes.”

“Produce for Kids and their Power Your Lunchbox Pledge are raising awareness about the importance of building healthy eating habits at an early age,” said Natalie Sexton, the Marketing Director and namesake of Natalie’s Juices. “As a sponsoring partner of this campaign, Natalie’s looks forward to seeing thousands of school children improve the contents of their lunchboxes and start the academic year off right!”
