Multi Cultural Actor Adam Meir Lands a Role on FX Hit Show Tyrant

Los Angeles-based actor Adam Meir Guest Stars on Season 2: Episode 7 of Tyrant on FX. Premiering July 28th, 2015, the  episode, entitled “The Awful Grace of God”, features Meir as a delicate, yet powerful character named Jabir. Meir shares an intimate scene with Tyrant star Noah Silver, which reflects on and illuminates current events in the world, and the United States in perticular.

Returning to his native roots to shoot the episode in Budapest, Hurgary, Meir shares, “Shooting this episode of Tyrant was special for me because, like the rest of the second season, it was shot in beautiful Budapest, Hungary, where I was born. Budapest is rapidly becoming one of the world’s main countries for film productions”. Being Hungarian-born and Israeli-raised, Meir’s experience and understanding of the cultures of many nations, including The Middle East, Europe and North America, have made him a perfect casting choice for international roles for a domestic audience.

As a voice artist, Adam Meir has lended his versatile voice and unique language skills (fluency in English, Hungarian, Hebrew and Arabic) to major shows and films: Dig on USA, The Blacklist on NBC, Chuck, Mission Impossible 4, Waltz With Bashir and many more. In addition to his acting credits and extensive voiceover work, Meir is also a highly-trained, special effects animatronic suit performer who portrays gorillas, bears, alligators and other creatures seen in film, television and commercials worldwide.

Tyrant follows the life of an unassuming American family that is drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. The episode airs Tuesday, July 28th at 10 PM on FX, and is directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton, (Sons of Anrachy, Justified, Hawaii Five-0).

 

 

About Adam Meir

Adam Meir is an actor, a voice-over artist, a singer, a mime and FX specialist. Born in Hungary and Immigrated to Israel at childhood. After watching Charlie Chaplin films, he was inspired to become an actor and a mime. Adam started acting at the age of 11. He graduated with honors in Theater Arts from the top High School for the Arts in Tel Aviv – Ironi Alef.
Adam served in the Israeli army for 3 years where he received an honorable discharge as a First Sergeant. Immediately after he was accepted to Israel’s top acting school, Yoram Levinstein in Tel Aviv where he received an Excellency Scholarship for his work. When he received the news that had been accepted to the world renowned American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and was fully sponsored, he packed his belongings and moved to Los Angeles. His recent credits include Tyrant on FX , Dig on USA, Freak Out on ABC, Mission Impossible 4, Golden Globe winner ”Waltz With Bashir”, Quentin Tarantino’s ”Freedoms Fury” and many more. Adam is acting in Hebrew, Hungarian, Arabic and of course English.
Adam has produced and played the role of Michal in The Southern England tour of ”The Pillowman” by Martin McDonagh in 2008.
Adam is also a member of Don McLeod’s ”Living Statues and Mime Company” and a main Animatronic Suit performer at the world renowned special effects company, Anatomorphex. He has been appearing all over the world as a Gorilla, Bear, Squirrel, Alligator and many other creatures in film TV and commercials.
