FEMIA President, Luis Lizcano, will contribute aerospace industry expertise
Modern Machine Shop Mexico today announced the appointment of Luis G. Lizcano, Director of the Mexican Federation for the Aerospace Industry, to its Editorial Advisory Board.
Mr. Lizcano brings more than 25 years of experience in aerospace industry development from both government and private perspectives. During his tenure in Chihuahua, Lizcano was instrumental in attracting companies like Cessna, Honeywell Aerospace, Beechcraft and Bell Helicopter, to the region.
In addition to participating as a consultant to Modern Machine Shop Mexico, Mr. Lizcano will make editorial contributions on current aerospace industry developments in Mexico.
Speaking on the importance of the aerospace industry in Mexico, Lizcano noted, “In the next 20 years 5% annual growth is expected in demand for commercial aircraft. If we combine this fact to the pending orders, which in some cases have lead times of up to seven years, it is clear that producers have a great need to increase their production capacities. In this context, Mexico plays a key role because of its long tradition of manufacturing and its proximity America, one of the aerospace industry’s most important markets.”
Commenting on the impact of Lizcano’s appointment, Modern Machine Shop Mexico publisher, Claude Mas noted, “We are very excited to welcome Jose Lizcano to the Modern Machine Shop Mexico Editorial Advisory Board. Mr. Lizcano brings a wealth of aerospace industry expertise, which compliments the strengths of other current contributors, Oscar Albin, President of the National Industry of Autoparts (INA) and Carlos G Mortera, Director of the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT). By bringing together leaders in aerospace, automotive and electronics, MMS Mexico continues to strengthen its place as the voice of manufacturing and industry in Mexico.”
Modern Machine Shop Mexico magazine delivered in January 2015 to more than 18,000 Mexican manufacturing professionals. Since its introduction, MMS Mexico has expanded its staff, established association partnerships and will be a featured exhibitor and media partner at next month’s TECMA.
