Our team quickly pivoted and continued to serve students virtually throughout the state of Illinois,” said Vernee Green, CEO of Mikva Challenge IL. “Proceeds from the Spring Benefit will allow Mikva Challenge to continue to reach over 10,000 youth in Chicago and Illinois in 2021 with innovative civic and community enrichment programs.”

Mikva Challenge develops youth to be empowered, informed, and active citizens who will promote a just and equitable society. Mikva Challenge is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization named in honor of the late Congressman, Judge, and White House Counsel Abner J. Mikva and his wife, educator Zoe Mikva. Mikva Challenge was founded on the premise that youth voice and participation matter, and that our civic and political life will be stronger when youth participate and shape their own destinies. We envision a stronger, inclusive democracy that values youth voice.
