Miami Beach Events in November – Beacon South Beach

Thanksgiving Weekend

There’s no shortage of restaurants near our Ocean Drive hotel, and some of them offer special Thanksgiving dinners and discounts. We’ll be happy to point out restaurants with world-class food and a welcoming atmosphere.

It’s possible to watch a Thanksgiving parade or some football in your luxurious Miami Beach hotel room. However, we also recommend that you see what the city has to offer. Enjoy the floats and bands at the Winternational Thanksgiving Parade in North Miami. And check out the football games at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday and Sunday of the holiday weekend.

If you enjoy hunting for a sweet deal on Black Friday, there are many opportunities near the Beacon South Beach Hotel. For example, some of the upscale shops at Lincoln Road Mall are holding a Black Friday sale. Even if you decide not to buy anything, the mall is worth visiting for its gorgeous outdoor promenade, art galleries, and fine dining.

A Taste of the December Holidays

At the beginning of November, Santa’s Enchanted Forest opened in Tropical Park, only a short drive from our South Beach hotel. This enormous Christmas-themed attraction is an amusement park and carnival bursting with rides, shows, games, and dazzling lights.

Another taste of Christmas comes from the tree-lighting ceremony at Bayfront Park on Nov. 25. With a height of 50 feet, the tree is a spectacular sight. Along with holiday music, the ceremony gives you a chance to sample some of the city’s best food trucks.

Veterans Day

The Miami Beach Veterans Day Parade takes place on Ocean Drive, close to our ocean front hotel. It’s followed by a picnic and a demonstration by the All-Veterans Parachute Team.

Veterans, active military personnel, and first responders should also keep an eye out for special discounts at Jungle Island, the Miami Seaquarium, and other major attractions.

Notable November Festivals

The Downtown Miami Riverwalk Festival, scheduled for Nov. 12, features a boat parade, dancing, folk art, pageantry, raffles, and cooking competitions, including a bake-off for rum cakes. Visitors enjoy food and music from a variety of cultures.

Bibliophiles staying at our Ocean Drive hotel will get the chance to participate in the Miami Book Fair International, which starts on Nov. 13 and lasts for several days. Hundreds of authors from around the world arrive to give readings and talks. It’s an exciting opportunity to get an autographed copy of a book you love. The festival also features a street fair and events highlighting comic books and graphic novels.

The Miami Short Film Festival starts on Nov. 14 and will offer screenings in Miami Beach. Whether or not you plan to watch any films, we recommend visiting the Art Deco District, which is located next to our South Beach hotel. Filmmakers have sometimes used this historic district in their work and drawn inspiration from the architectural style.
