Luxury Cornish cottage stay at The Valley is Bear Grylls’ charity stocking prize

Luxury Cornish holiday cottage resort The Valley has donated a four night stay as part of a charity auction for cancer charity Macmillan which raised £195,000.

A FOUR night stay at luxury Cornish holiday cottages near Truro has been sold as part of a lot in a glitzy London charity auction.
A voucher for four nights at The Valley luxury holiday cottages in Carnon Downs was part of a stocking sold at the Macmillan Celebrity Christmas Stocking Auction at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel last month.
Guests at the auction, which raised £195,000 for the cancer charity, enjoyed a champagne reception before they were given the chance to bid on a number of celebrity ‘stockings’, each containing a number of items.
And the stay at The Valley formed part of a stocking put together by former SAS officer and Chief Scout Bear Grylls.
Manager of The Valley David Reynolds said he was really pleased to have formed part of Bear Grylls’ stocking in the auction, which was conducted by Martin Roberts, of Homes Under the Hammer fame.
“My three boys were particularly chuffed to hear our short break was part of Bear Grylls’ stocking,” he said, “they’re big fans.
“We’re delighted to have supported the event again.”
