Local Harley-Davidson Owner National Flat Track Champion

Tommy Hannum III, local Harley-Davidson Dealer Owner was named 2018 AMA Vintage Flat Track National Champion during the AMA Championship Banquet held on December 9^th, 2018 in Columbus, OH. “This prestigious event spotlights individuals and organizations from a variety of motorcycle and ATV disciplines who represent the country’s best,” said AMA Director of Racing, Kevin Crowther. Tommy was awarded the AMA National No. 1 plate.

Racing has been a time-honored tradition dating back to his own father, Tom Jr. He, himself was an avid racer and motorcycle enthusiast that passed on the need for speed to Tommy, and his passion of motorcycling to his wife Rita, and daughter Tonda.  Even today the legacy continues within Tommy’s own family at home, and at work. Many of the Hannum’s Harley-Davidson employees race on Sundays at tracks in the area. The technicians that are a part of his race team not only work on his bike, but also work on Harley-Davidson motorcycles in their Service Department. Customers are always pleased to hear that they can count on true racing professionals to tune their bikes.

“I think this award and everyone’s participation in racing and riding demonstrates that the Hannum’s and their dealerships are compromised of real motorcycle enthusiasts,” said Tonda Hannum DiPasquale. “We have three generations going on four, and our enthusiasm for the sport is what separates us from other dealerships.”

In 1954, Tom Hannum, Jr. was so passionate about motorcycles that he was able to convince his father, Tom Sr., to sell his automotive business to purchase a Harley-Davidson franchise. So began the Hannum’s Harley-Davidson dynasty, which continues to bring the “Thrill of the Ride” to customers throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.
