Kristy Moats-Moody selected as Top Canine Trainer of the Year by IAOTP

Kristy Moats-Moody, Founder of K9RDX was recently selected as Top Canine Trainer of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to the industry.

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, other affiliations and contributions to their communities. With many years of professional experience as a sought-after Canine Trainer, Kristy has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. She is a dynamic, results-driven leader, who has demonstrated success throughout her entire career. Currently, she is the Founder of K9RDX, a Canine Training business providing Obedience, Detection and Protection.

Kristy’s K9’s are taught to detect high explosives, homemade explosives, firearms and ammo and crowd control. Examples of areas where K9RDX is needed includes schools, arenas, venues and concerts doing extensive sweeps and personal screening detections of individuals and personal belongings. Kristy trains these canines to have outstanding perfect obedience and service dog recognition.  They are trained for bark and hold commands, long distance attacks and stooped attacks. Kristy has physically taken on these high-powered canines in decoy bite work, teaching the canines for suspect takedown, stop attack, and outting the K9 off the bite.

Kristy is also a master of K9 Massage Therapy, catering to working dogs. This is beneficial for both spinal and hip alignment, reducing muscular inflammation, pain, stiffness and it improves the cardiovascular health of the dogs. Kristy is extremely knowledgeable in nutrition, supplements, essential oils, homeopathic remedies for all K9’s.

Throughout her remarkable career, Kristy has received awards and has been recognized nationwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the industry. This year she is being considered for a feature article in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and also for the Empowered Woman of the Year Award given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). She will attend IAOTP’s 2021 Annual Award Gala being held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City this December and receive her recognition on stage as the Top Canine Trainer of the Year.

Kristy has devoted all her hard work to open a nonprofit sanctuary for retired K9’s serving law enforcement, military, and independent contract work. These K9’s have dedicated their lives to protect and serve our country.

Looking back, Kristy attributes her success to her perseverance, her leadership skills and her passion for training German Shepherds. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and traveling. For the future, Kristy will continue training her K9’s to keep as many people safe from harm as possible.
