Kid’s Island Nursery receives ‘The Learning Garden Award’ for Excellence in Teaching

The Nursery has been offering quality pre-school education to young children in Dubai for over 27 years. The mainstay of the Nursery is to continuously reflect and improve. In this endeavor, Kid’s Island has added elements of the “Garden-School” concept to extend learning from indoors to the outdoors. The award recognises Kid’s Island Nursery’s innovative teaching methods, as they continually step up to the needs of their children who may have limited opportunities to learn from nature-based activities outdoors.

A British Curriculum Nursery with a nature-based approach to learning, Kid’s Island Nursery actively encourages learning to take place outdoors. The natural setting of the Nursery creates additional teachable moments.  The goal of the Nursery is to equip children with confidence and positive self-awareness while educating them in social and environmental skills. Well planned and resourced outdoor areas have been given the same importance as indoor classes.  Kid’s Island Nursery believe that learning should be a discovery process that is exciting, real and tangible.

As the children begin their educational journey, they are introduced to early mathematical concepts, literacy and language development. Outdoor activities involving leafy garden trails, a fully equipped mud kitchen, dynamic multi-sensory stations and a sorting/counting woodland terrace enhance their love for learning. All the outdoor learning areas are nestled within the lush greenery of the Nursery setting, providing the best environment to educate children on lifecycles and the interdependence of humans, animals and plants.
