Peejamas-a company launched through Kickstarter-has an innovative solution to bedwetting with nighttime training pants in the form of cost-effective, eco-friendly pajamas. If the online feedback is an indicator, the company is resonating well with the public. Peejamas recently exceeded the 100+ mark for 5-star online reviews.
Peejamas have been recognized as Kickstarter’s most successful child apparel product ever launched. They are an alternative to diapers for children with nighttime incontinence or those who are working toward potty training.
Unlike diapers that wick moisture away entirely, Peejamas’ patent-pending design is made to absorb urine but still leave a slight wet sensation to reinforce daytime potty-training practices. Unlike disposable diapers, Peejamas are reusable and can be washed over 300 times before beginning to lose absorbency. They are made of soft fabric that comes in several fashionable patterns.
According to Craig Hammond, the company’s founder, Peejamas are not meant to replace diapers in all cases, but they can often do what diapers cannot.
“Popular brands like Pampers and Huggies have their place with their absorbent polymers, but when children are potty training, our alternative to disposable diapers is often just what kids need to get over the hump and on to dry nights,” said Hammond.
Hammond said that he initially faced a lot of detractors who believed that the product would not gain traction on Kickstarter.
“Kickstarter is known as a springboard for tech companies, so we took a big chance in starting here,” said Hammond. “At the same time, we knew we had an exceptional product that fills a big void in the market, so that kept us going.”
The Kickstarter audience helped make Hammond’s dream a reality with his company launch, but they weren’t the only ones recognizing the benefits of Peejamas. Parents magazine called the product a “win, win” for parents and children and BabyCenter billed them as a “dream come true.” They have also been featured on mom.me, ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX news. And users have chimed in on Google, Facebook, and other online sites with well over 100 5-star Peejamas reviews.
Peejamas are considerably cheaper than nighttime diapers, and they don’t add to the landfill like disposable products do. They are made of industry-leading certified fabrics that are free of the chemicals present in many other children’s pajamas and are 100% safe for contact with skin.
