Food prices have soared to a record high and the UN warns it may trigger a global food crisis.
Sanctions, import bans, destruction of infrastructure and disruptions in the supply chain due to the conflict in Ukraine and Russia are stoking global food prices and risking shortages.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has warned of a potential food crisis, with soaring prices and millions in danger of severe hunger as the war in Ukraine threatens supplies of key staple crops. Food proces were already high before the Russia-Ukraine conflict due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The FAO warns additional strain of war could tip the global food system into disaster.
At least 50 countries depend on Russia and Ukraine for 30% or more of their wheat supply and 20% of maize exports. According to the United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP), 44 million people in 38 countries were on the verge of famine before the invasion. Now, due to the effects of the war and disruptions to Ukraine’s spring planting season, world hunger is threatened to drive to disastrous levels.
While many countries such as Sri Lanka, China, Lebanon and African countries are already reeling with food shortages, KAILASA has a surplus of food to share. The Government of Kailasa, powered by The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH) Nithyananda Paramashivam’s divine dictum of eradicating hunger from the world, has taken up the responsibility to attend to humanity’s basic needs.
Under the guidance of The SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam, head of state of Kailasa, the world’s only Hindu nation, Kailasa is continuously providing free food in many countries through Kailasa’s humanitarian initiative, the Red Om. KAILASA’S RED OM aims to revive the food supply system of KAILASA as it was during the reign of Devi Meenakshi Paramashivashakti and Sundereshwara Paramashiva around 2800 BC.
Every food offering is thoroughly prepared as per Bhaga Shastra of Shaiva Agamas (the Somashambhu Paddhati) and directly administered and managed by the SPH, under a stringent protocol of KAILASA which is rooted in the principles of Hindu dharma.
Already having served more than a billion meals worldwide over the last 27 years, The SPH has exceeded all expectations by providing free food multiple times per day to populations all around the planet even in this time of ongoing global crisis.
Additionally, during the Chithirai Brahmotsavam celebrations which started on on April 5th, 2022, annadhan services (free organic vegetarian food distributions) are being provided in several places in Tiruvannamalai, Madurai, Thanjavur and Sripuram-Hyderabad in India, enriching hundred of thousands of pilgrims flocking the celebrations.
The residents of KAILASA cognize every devotee who participates in the Chithirai Brahmotsavam as the very embodiment of Devi Meenakshi and Sundareshwara and everyone is served food under this powerful space.
Overall, post-covid, SHRIKAILASA has restarted its 24/7 Annadanam services as per the vision of The SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam of “No-Hungry Home”.
Exceeding all expectations to serve humanity at this greatest time of need, The SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam has declared on April 15, 2022, “I will soon launch food vending machines which will give free food at the touch of a button, 24/7.”
