JP-UK’s Guide to Projector Brightness
Industry: Technology
JP-UK provide an insight into factors determining the brightness required from a projector.
United Kingdom (PRUnderground) April 9th, 2014
The brightness of a projector is measured in ANSI (American National Standards Institute) lumens; the higher the lumens count the brighter the projectors. In order to determine the brightness you require for your projector you first need to consider a number of factors:
· Number of people in the room: The greater number of people in the room the larger the image will need to be to ensure everyone can see it. In order to create a bigger picture the projector will typically be further away from the image require greater levels of brightness.
· The level of control over light within the room: Regardless of a projector’s brightness the best image quality is achieved in a dark room. However, it is not always possible to control the level of light within a room. If projectors are going to be used in brightly lit rooms they will require a higher level of brightness.
· The application: The intended application for projection has an impact on the level of brightness required. To demonstrate, text and graph based applications require a higher level of brightness than video and photo based applications, this is because of the amount of detail which is contained in word and graph based application.
