Lionel Thomas is a French-born artist with Cameroonian roots, who lives and works in St. Petersburg, Florida. Thomas is a self-taught artist who, however, tried to enter a local art school in Lille, France in 2004 but was rejected because he was ‘above the age limit of admission for the program.’ This failure did not stop the young and inspiring man to continue painting and, perhaps, even helped him find his own, unique style. Years later, Lionel Thomas sold his first paintings to a patron in Brooklyn, NYC and thus started his career as a professional artist.

Today, Lionel Thomas is best known for his colorful paintings inspired by Blues, Jazz, R&B, and Soul music. The artist has a unique ability to turn music notes into paintbrush strokes, rhythm into paint. He creates amazing music for the eyes, mastering his art and pushing the boundaries of his incredible talent.
